Nearly there
As we close down for 2023 - the regular end-of-the-year break from releasing episodes and shows - it’s good to remind ourselves what happened in the year, what we achieved, and what we learned.
It’s easy to buy the following year’s planner and write down the goals and all the projects and trips we want to do in the next year.
Not only easy but very satisfying.
All the self-help/business/enlightenment gurus know it, and it’s the first thing they ask us to do.
Do the vision board, create your ‘ideal’ week, and write down how much you will earn in 2024!
And it’s all good, I don’t mind it. I have a planner on the wall where I cross off each day and write down the appointments, trips, etc.
But.
As much as the future and the planning seduce me, I also like to slow down at the end of each year, think about what happened, and write it down.
And it’s not just about the idea of success or achievements, which we are presented by random people daily.
But it’s actually life, my life that I lived.
Was it a good year?
Did I have time for friends and family?
Was my work ok?
Did I make time to relax, read, and play video games?
What were the best times, where did I make mistakes?
Usually, when I think about it and remove all unnecessary details, what is left are the simple things like enjoying work, meeting with people, walking with our dog, training (but not overtraining - 3 injuries this year!), and eating ok.
That’s it.
All the trips or new things are cool, but what makes a good year is just doing more things that make you happy.
These are usually free.

PODCAST PRODUCER LATEST
Black Friday, right?
Most of the offers are scams; we all know it. However, regarding software, you can save during that weekend.
The problem is overbuying - purchasing things that we don’t need.
I had about 20 tabs opened, waiting for the BF/Cyber Monday - plugins, VSTs, libraries, you name it.
Ultimately, I reminded myself that I didn’t need any of it. It’s just hoarding at this point.
So, I only got a few new libraries for Omnisphere and one plugin that looks great.
I promise to use it at some unspecified time in the future.

We released a video about the Bakersfield Three podcast and the production process.
BOOKS
On Writing by Stephen King. I am still reading the book and got some writing tips. It’s good - I don’t read King’s novels (too scary), but he’s funny.
FUN
It’s been a busy week as we catch up with work before the last trip of the year. I am also preparing for my kickboxing belt grading this Saturday, and of course, I got a bit of a cold and infection, and my regular hip flexor injury returned. Just in time.
I haven’t been watching anything good, as I needed to finish Baldur’s Gate 3 this week. I finished the game yesterday, and life lost its meaning.
It is an empty existence.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you (hopefully!) next week!
