Get Away
It’s been radio silence as I have been away for the better part of the last two weeks.
I planned this year’s last adventure for more than six months, when we conceived a plan to visit my brother for his birthday this November.
He currently lives in Bangkok, and I have always wanted to visit the Land of Smiles, Thailand.
In total, a group of 15 met up over there for what was one of the best holidays we ever had.
Not only exploring the beautiful country, but doing it together as well.
I read about it many years ago, how organising trips together can elevate relationships with friends and family.
The basic premise is this:
When we just visit family/friends/closed ones for holidays or birthdays, we usually do it at home (theirs or ours).
After the meet and greet, eventually, a small argument happens.
Drama or politics enter the room.
You know what I am talking about. Especially if the guests are over more than two days.
However, going away together to a new place bypasses that because
1 - There is too much to do and see
2 - Experiencing events together creates great memories and bonds
3 - The ‘regular’ life seems distant, so there is no need to complain about it
Of course, there is a caveat.
Taking a toxic person, or someone who doesn’t fit the vibe, won’t work. So we have to be careful there, too, as one can spoil the entire group adventure.
Fortunately, our family and friends are pretty chill and funny, and the fact that everyone had an amazing time with the youngest one being 2 is a pretty good statement.
I hope it’s the first of many more to come!
P.S.
We are back at home now, and there are plenty of updates and interesting projects on the horizon!
P.S. 2
The good thing about jet lag is that I can’t focus on any creative tasks and was able to do all the archiving!
