Flowing
I am one of those people who are always restless. I need something to do - a project, a goal, a plan.
This attitude is great when it comes to work or achieving targets but can be pretty toxic when there is little to do.
It can often trigger a kind of insecurity, a necessity to come up with a new, worthy aim.
This thinking can become an obsession, making everything else look boring - a ‘shiny new object’ syndrome.
Only when we step back and look at it from a distance can we see that we are pushing against ourselves, creating unnecessary stress.
But it isn’t easy to do it on our own.
I am lucky because Paulina is not like that. She is more of a ‘go with the flow’ person. She is open to suggestions and adventures but not necessarily doing them with any pressure.
It’s a good balance between us; a recent situation reminded me of it.
I got tangled into a new obsession for a change, creating unnecessary stress.
Her advice was to look at the last 5, 10, 15 years and see that things go into place by themselves, fitting like puzzle pieces. And, like always, she is right.
Every significant change was never planned much in advance; it was a necessary action that we took, but it was more of a flow of things than an uphill battle.
I’m not saying that I should sit on my ass and wait for things to happen, but rather to relax, see what’s on offer and make a decision. Everything else will fall into place eventually.
PODCAST PRODUCER LATEST
As we are working on shows and episodes, there is another venture where we are trying our luck - a very first live show.
Presented by Vikki Petraitis and Emily Webb, it will happen in Victoria end of September.
We are excited to see how it goes.
YOUTUBE
We released an old video where I tried the latest AI editing tools vs. manually fixing the audio. We still have a few older recordings I did at the beginning of 2023 like that.
BOOKS
The Big Questions of Life by Om Swami. It’s a book about life, Buddhism and lessons we can inject into our existence. It flows nicely and is one of those books that calms me down when reading. I definitely recommend it.
FUN
Finally, after months of waiting, I saw Trivium at O2 Bristol. It’s one of these bands that I listened to in the past but properly got into since the end of last year. They are one of my favourites now, so I was looking forward to the gig. And it didn’t disappoint. It was crazy hot inside the venue, literally sauna-like. But everyone was cool and handing out water all the time. It was an awesome night.
One Piece. It’s a live-action adaptation of a hugely popular anime and manga. My youngest brother loves the original, but I never watched it, as it’s over 1000 episodes! The Netflix series is good. Finally, they got it right with these adaptations.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you (hopefully!) next week!
